Daily Devo 90 – Do All Religions Lead to the Same Destination?

Do all religions lead to the same destination? What makes a lot of us uncomfortable with answering this is thinking about, “if I answer this with, ‘no, not all religions go to the same place,’ then I’m saying that other people are wrong.” I definitely don’t want to make other people uncomfortable by calling them wrong. But it’s also too important to answer rather than leaving you in doubt. So back to the question: do all religions lead to the same destination? No. No they don’t. Every religion in the world today says that if there is an afterlife, a heaven, that you have to be a good person and work your way UP to it. Every single religion says that… except Christianity. Christianity says that no one will ever be good enough for heaven… but God sent his Son Jesus DOWN to us. Guys, God loves you. He loves you SO much! He loves us so much that he sent his son into this world, to suffer, to be rejected and lonely, to be bullied, beaten, and betrayed. He did it because he wants to spend the rest of eternity with us. He came down to us to rescue us—NOT because you earned it, because you didn’t. He did it because he loves you. Do you think Jesus would have died the death he did if there was another way to heaven? Hell no.
