Daily Devo 82 – Long Dark Tunnels

Imagine being in a tunnel so long and so dark that you can’t even see your hand if you hold it in front of your face! There is a biking trails in Idaho with 10 long tunnels, one being 1.66 miles long! Inside it’s extremely dark and cold and it’s hard to see the light on either side. It takes a lot of trust to go through those tunnels–trust in your bike, in your headlamps, and in the tunnel builders. In dark seasons of life, it’s tempting to reach out and trust in whatever is comfortable and convenient, like our own knowledge and abilities. God calls us to trust in Him, and in return He walks behind, in front, and beside us in dark and light seasons.

Challenge: Close your eyes and imagine… imagine God guiding in front of you, protecting behind you, and walking right next to you. Pray to God, thankful that He’s always there with you, through dark tunnels and sunlit paths. Pray that He helps you to keep trusting in Him and that facts that He’s doing BIG things in your life!
