Daily Devo 75 – A Polluted Source

In the movie Sahara (2005), an evil corporation starts dumping nuclear waste in the middle of the African desert… but it turns out that they were poisoning the source of an important river and people started dying. In John 4, Jesus has an incredible conversation with a Samaritan woman where he reveals to her that her source of satisfaction is polluted. It’s easy to blame things around us, but the truth is that our hearts are polluted from sin. BUT God offers us a new heart, a new source to quench our thirst from now until eternity!

Challenge: When you’re dissatisfied, go to the source. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind. In other words, stop doing the same thing over and over, but instead go to God. Pray about your dissatisfaction. Read his words to you in the Bible. Honestly, you likely won’t FEEL satisfied, but you CAN rest in knowing that God is transforming you and one day He’ll remove every disappointment and dissatisfaction from existence and you’ll be left satisfied.
