I usually want to know what’s coming next. When I don’t know “the plan,” I am tempted to feel anxious or even unmotivated. In John 1:38-39, Jesus invites a couple guys to “come and see” where he was going… and they did just that! They trusted that Jesus had the plan and that was all they needed—they didn’t need to be consumed with finding out what was in the plan. As Christians, God calls us to trust Him like that. Every day God wants for us to just keep taking the next step in our journey, to do the next right thing. We don’t need to know the plans, just trust the One with the plan.
Challenge: Do the next right thing. Take the next small step to trust that God knows where you’re heading. It’s true, we can’t see far into our future, but as you seek God in prayer and by reading the Bible, it becomes more and more clear what your next right thing to do is today.
