The Willis (formerly Sears) Tower in Chicago is over 1,450 ft tall! But its foundation is an insane 100 ft into the ground. In Matthew 7:24-27 Jesus calls us to build our life’s foundation on His teachings. When we do, God works in our tough circumstances to help us navigate hurts and troubles. When we don’t center our lives on Jesus, those same troubles knock us over like a flimsy hut built on sand.
My challenge to you today is to take a step back and look at where your foundation is being built. If you find yourself building your foundation around people or possessions, turn and refocus your foundation on Christ. People and possessions will never give you the strongest foundation and can possibly fade away. But what will never fade is the foundation that Jesus gives you through his word.
