2020. This year has been full of unexpected twists and turns. My life right now is nowhere near where I thought it would be at the beginning of 2020. God has taught me two deep lessons through this, though: 1, at the heart of my faith is my heart, and 2, my heart shapes my actions. Jesus does an amazing job at summarizing this in Matthew 7:24-29, emphasizing that when we follow Jesus, we both hear His words and put them into practice. When we do this, it’s like building a house on a solid rock foundation. We may not know what tomorrow holds, but we know who holds tomorrow!
Challenge: Where is God nudging you? Where is He challenging you? Spend some time thinking or even praying over this. Every day along your journey of faith God wakes up with you, walks with you, encourages you, and gives you challenging opportunities to experience His Kingdom right now. When your heart is shaped by Jesus, your actions are shaped by your heart, and you experience what God’s Kingdom is really like.
