I got an email claiming that I won $500 to Amazon… It seemed too good to be true. Turns out… it was true!
We’ve been looking at Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, so today we’re looking at Matthew 5:17. It exposes the fact that people thought Jesus was teaching something new, and with authority (Mark 1:27). Jesus does teach with authority, but He wasn’t teaching new stuff, just trying to help us understand how to live in right relationship with God. But that, for us, means being perfect, which we’re not. And to that Jesus says, “that’s true!” But His authority also means that the forgiveness and freedom HE brings is also true.
There’s a song out called “Who You Say I Am” by Hillsong. Today’s challenge is to listen to that song and know that the words in it are true and real!
