While I was camping on the Tonto Rim, I cooked up some amazing steaks. My secret: put salt on the steak right before throwing it on the grill. Salt brings out the best in steak. Is there someone who brings out the best in you? In Matthew 5, Jesus tells His followers that they are salt. Followers of Jesus preserve peoples lives and bring out the best in them, too. God has been giving us this example to imitate throughout the Bible, providing for us and helping us thrive. The Holy Spirit constantly helps preserve our lives and helps us strive to be like Jesus.
Today’s challenge: who is salt in your life? Thank them! Tell them the impact they’ve had. And think about how you, too, can be salt to people around you.
