In Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, he says something strange: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.” Super weird to hunger or thirst for righteousness. What it really means is people who have a strong longing that hurt and brokenness in relationships is fixed and healed. It’s talking about people who notice that their own relationships and just wrecked and are hungry to see people treat each other right, like how God treats us–He carries through on His promises, He treats us with kindness and grace, and He loves us so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die for us.
Today’s challenge: What change will you be? Sit and think about it. Does it bother you that relationships around you are wrecked? Grieve it! Be sad about it, and then ask God for the wisdom on how to be the change—how to do the right thing in all of your relationships.
