Did you know this? The word “but” cancels out whatever we just said. We all do this: we use the word “but” to offer an excuse of why we’re not really sorry or why we’d like to do something, but… People have been doing this since the word “but” was invented, even in the Bible when talking with God. God, however, says, “Our relationship is broken, BUT I’m going to fix that,” and he sent Jesus.
Today’s Challenge: catch yourself saying “but.” When are you saying it? If you catch yourself saying it to God, pause for a second and go forward with what you think he is asking you to do.
